How to Add Expenses From Telegram in Seconds

The fastest expense tracker is the one you already have open. If you use Telegram every day, you can log spending by sending a short message to the SpendFlow bot instead of opening the app.

Link your Telegram account

Linking happens inside SpendFlow while you are signed in, so you never send a password to the bot.

  1. Sign in to SpendFlow and open Settings → Telegram Bot.
  2. Tap Connect Telegram. Telegram opens the bot chat.
  3. Tap Start. The bot replies “Linked!” and you are done.

Tip: The connect link works once and expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, tap Connect Telegram again.

Add an expense or income

Send a message in the form amount, then an optional category, then an optional note. No command is needed.

  • 50 coffee — adds an expense of 50 and matches it to your coffee-like category.
  • 1200 groceries lunch with team — expense of 1200 in Groceries with a note.
  • 350 — expense of 350 in your default category.
  • +5000 salary — a leading + records income instead.

The word after the amount is matched against your own category names. If nothing matches, SpendFlow uses your default category and keeps the words as the note. Each entry comes back with buttons to change the category or account, or to undo it straight away.

Useful commands

  • /recent — your last five transactions, with edit and delete buttons.
  • /budget — every category budget with progress for the month.
  • /budget food 8000 — set the Food budget to 8000.
  • /report — income, expenses, balance and your top spending categories; add “week” for the current week.
  • /help — a quick cheat sheet.

Language, currency and privacy

The bot answers in your app language (English, Bangla, Russian, Thai or German) and uses your app currency. Only your linked Telegram account can touch your data, and you can disconnect any time from Settings → Telegram Bot, which stops the bot immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • “This chat isn’t linked yet” — run the Connect flow again.
  • “Link expired or invalid” — generate a fresh link in Settings.
  • The bot could not read your message — use the format amount, category, note, for example 50 coffee.
